HOMEOSTASIS Claude Bernard, a famous French physiologist pointed out in 1859 that plants and animals live in different environments like deserts , snowmountain grassland etc. The surrounding in which an organism live is called external environment and the environment in which a organism's cell live is called its internal environment . The internal environment is a fluid filled called tissue fluid which bathes the cells of body . So maintaining the internal environment constant for cell functioning is called Homeostasis.
